Dr. Sherman Master appointed as Interim Associate Medical Director

Dr. Sherman Master has devoted more than 30 years to the treatment of addictions. He has served as medical director for several facilities including the Dual Diagnosis Unit of the Medical College of Virginia, now VCU Health Systems and Virginia Monitoring, the first sole provider for evaluation and monitoring of all healthcare providers in Virginia. From 1990 to 2007, Dr. Master was medical director of Tucker Pavilion at HCA’s Chippenham Medical Center.

At various times he has served in an interim psychiatrist role at Williamsburg Place and the Farley Center. Most recently, he has been clinical director of an addictions treatment program called Williamsville Wellness.

Distinguished Service award from the Virginia Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors, and in 2006 he received the Medical Professional Award from the Carron Foundation.

Dr. Master is a graduate of the University of Virginia and received his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia. He presently specializes in adult psychiatry and addiction medicine.
