Expansion Dreams do come true…
The disease of Addiction affects the individual on many levels. Physically it damages our organs: our lungs, our liver, our brain, our pancreas, the body systems it damages is an endless list and the results are life threatening. Mentally, it affects our ability to think clearly, make good judgments, have insight and problem solve. The whole perspective of our world is impaired. Emotionally, those who become dependant upon chemicals seem unable to meet life on life’s terms. Spiritually addicted individuals lose sight of all that they value. They need to lie, cheat and even steal to acquire the necessary substance to feed their addiction.
As the providers of treatment and care, we know what the dependence of alcohol and drugs does to the individual. We know that in order to become abstinent, stabilize physically, return to normal functioning and to learn the skills necessary to be in full remission and recover, it takes time and a safe, therapeutic environment. An environment where skills can be learned; knowledge gained while healing.
This type of environment is what we here at Williamsburg Place/The Farley Center have long dreamed about. A Recovery Campus. A home of healing with a history of recovery; where good people come to get well.
This summer this dream of providing our clients with a safe and therapeutic environment is coming true. We will have expanded our therapy space and reconfigured our interior design to be more welcoming and therapeutic. We are adding a brand new, state of the art kitchen. Our new kitchen will allow us to provide more variety, heart healthy, universal menu selections. The new dining area will be expanded and redesigned for a calm and therapeutic experience. The new space will provide for outdoor dining as well.
The addition of The Villages of Williamsburg Place is the dream; to have our Recovery Residences – The Village on our campus. The new apartments will be but a short walk from the facility itself. An attractive outdoor garden patio in The Village separates the men and women’s residences. A walking trail allows our clients to enjoy our beautifully landscaped open campus.
Each individual apartment is beautifully furnished. Laundry facilities, up to date kitchens, and semi-private bedrooms are in each apartment. Cable TV, utilities, and phone are all included in the daily cost of room and board.
